HEALTH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AT THE PRACTICE
The Practice is a Training Practice for Hospital Registrars, who are fully qualified Doctors, who have decided they wish to work within the community rather than a Hospital and have since embarked on a Training Scheme to become Doctors in Primary Care in the community. These Doctors are based with us for 4-12 months.
We are also involved in the education of undergraduate Medical Students from the University of Liverpool, who attend the Practice. As part of their education the students do sit in with the Doctors during some of their surgeries.
At present, Dr McCarthy is Tutor to the Medical Students and Trainer to the GP Registrar.
In all instances you will be informed by the Receptionist if Doctors have a Registrar or Student with them and you will be given the opportunity to agree or disagree to their presence during your consultation.
PRACTICE MANAGER
The Practice Manager post is vacant. Dr
Stott is Acting Practice Manager, she is responsible for the staff and premises and ensures that the general administrative and non-clinical matters are carried out in an efficient way. If you wish to make any enquiries about the administrative or non-medical aspects of your health care, Please ask to speak with Mrs Stratford.
PRACTICE CO-ORDINATORS
The Practice Co-ordinators are Mrs Hazel Stratford and Mrs Jeanett Thornbury and their main responsibility is to bring together all the many services offered at the Medical Centre. The Practice Co-ordinators will be able to help you should you require a medical report for whatever purpose and they also organize special appointments for the Minor Surgery Clinics.
RECEPTION OFFICE SUPERVISORS
The Reception Office Supervisors are Mrs Marion Hill and Mrs Lesley Robinson. They are responsible for the general administration and are well placed to help you with day to day enquiries on the telephone or in person.
RECEPTIONISTS
The Receptionists are there to help you. They have a difficult job to do, dealing with a constant stream of telephone calls and enquiries, so please be patient.
When telephoning for medical attention the Receptionists may ask for a few details. They have been trained to make these enquiries so that you can be helped in the most appropriate way.
