HEALTH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AT THE PRACTICE

The Practice is a Training Practice for Hospital Registrars, who are fully qualified Doctors, who have decided they wish to work within the community rather than a Hospital and have since embarked on a Training Scheme to become Doctors in Primary Care in the community. These Doctors are based with us for 4-12 months.

We are also involved in the education of undergraduate Medical Students from the University of Liverpool, who attend the Practice. As part of their education the students do sit in with the Doctors during some of their surgeries.

At present, Dr McCarthy is Tutor to the Medical Students and Trainer to the GP Registrar.

In all instances you will be informed by the Receptionist if Doctors have a Registrar or Student with them and you will be given the opportunity to agree or disagree to their presence during your consultation.
