Please note if you register for on-line access through Patient Access you will need to bring in 2 forms of ID (one picture/one with address) to complete the process. If we do not receive this within 30 days the account will be rejected.
If you require an appointment please telephone the Medical Centre on 604427 or 604084 or you can book on-line up to 2 weeks ahead (on-line appointments are available throughout the day including our early morning appointments)
We have adjusted our appointment system recently to manage daily urgent care demand during morning sessions and this has allowed us to have more pre-bookable appointments in the afternoon. If you require an urgent appointment please contact the surgery from 8am to 11 am. Our Patient Advisors will assist you in booking to see the most appropriate member of our team.
GP’s can now pre-book patients who they want to review face to face and pre-book telephone consultations for those they need a quick discussion. Medication review appointments are pre-bookable by our prescription team.
We have increased the number of appointments bookable on-line. You can now book Nurse cervical smear appointments on-line and we aim to add Nurse asthma checks from July. From mid-June, we will trial the release of some Wednesday appointments on-line 48 hours ahead in addition to those which can be booked 2 weeks ahead.
Appointments in surgery
Appointments in surgery are 10 minutes long. If you have several problems to discuss, please let the receptionist know and we will try our best to allocate a longer appointment slot. If this isn’t possible we may ask you to come to an additional appointment at a later time or day. Please prioritise your concerns.
The number of appointments we can offer on a daily basis is finite and our Patient Advisor team will be able to advise you where you can access further advice when we have reached capacity.
Our Receptionists are all trained Patient Advisors.
As part of our team, they have been trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive:
- The most appropriate clinical care
- From the most appropriate clinician/health care professional
- At the most appropriate time
Patient Advisors are asked to collect brief information from patients:
- To help clinician’s to prioritise their workload
- To ensure that all patients receive the appropriate level of care
- To direct patients to see a Nurse or health care professional
- To help to direct patient to where they can find advice to self-manage their problem – ie local pharmacy or NHS choices/Self-care forum/My Life Warrington
If you just need to talk to us, then you can book a telephone appointment instead of a face to face consultation. These are available every day. Please ask the receptionist to book this for you. Please note we can give you an approximate time for the call but may be slightly late if face to face consultations in surgery run behind time. You can use telephone appointments to discuss test results, medication reviews, and minor queries – almost anything where an examination is not required.
